CA LAW REQUIRES STUDENT PERTUSSIS IMMUNIZATION
In an effort to prepare for next steps in middle school, RBUSD notifies families beginning in the 5th grade, and again in the 6th grade, of the California Law requiring Pertussis immunizations for students entering into the 7th grade. All students entering the 7th grade will need proof of a Tdap booster shot before starting school.

This requirement:

  • Will be met by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) recommendation to receive one dose of Tdap vaccine on or after the 7th birthday.

  • Applies to all public and private schools.

  • In order to insure a smooth transition into the 7th grade, please bring in your proof of a Tdap booster shot to the Health Office right away.

  • Does not affect students enrolled in summer school.

NOTE: Students entering 7th grade will not get their schedules unless they show proof of vaccination.
