Each trimester we accumulate a large number of sweaters, jackets, lunch pails, and accessories. At the end of each trimester, clothing that is not claimed is donated. Please remind your student to keep track of their belongings during recess and lunch periods. Remember to stop by and check out our Lost and Found rack for any clothing or item your child is missing. Please also remind your child to also periodically check the Lost and Found for any lost items during the school week. Thank you

NEW OFFERING! Now Your Child Can Eat Breakfast At School!

We know that mornings can be really crazy…the alarm doesn’t go off…the kids don’t want to get up…there’s no time to eat breakfast before Walking School bus comes, heading out to Running Club, or in a rush to get to CDC…or they’re just not ready to eat. If this sounds like your house, we have good news for you!

In January we began to serve breakfast at school from 7:45 - 8:15 a.m.! School breakfast will give your child a healthy start to the day. A nutritious breakfast has been shown to help students be more alert so they can learn more in class. Breakfast has vitamins and nutrients for a strong and healthy body.

Our school breakfast includes a daily choice of hot entrées, fresh fruit, juice and milk.

Breakfast at school is affordable, too. It’s only $2.00 and if your family qualifies for free or reduced price meals, your child also receives breakfast for free and no additional paperwork is required.

You can’t find a healthier breakfast at such a low cost anywhere else.  Help your child start the day right with school breakfast!

Meet The Principal

My name is Oryla Wiedoeft and it is my sincere honor and pleasure to have been selected as the new principal of Jefferson Elementary School. I look forward to supporting the dedicated staff and parents to continue Jefferson’s legacy of being not only academically high performing and at the forefront of 21st century education, but also a happy and emotionally healthy place for children to learn and grow.

Since this is my first year at Jefferson, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is pretty tough to pronounce and I was teased about it in elementary school, but we will laugh our way through it as we all get to know each other. People tend to call me ‘Dr. O’. I am very excited to be a dolphin, since dolphins are my favorite animal! I come from a family of elementary educators. My mom currently is a kindergarten teacher and godmother is an elementary school principal. In the 13 years prior to coming to Jefferson, I have served as an assistant principal, worked in the district office, served as an instructional coach, a program coordinator, and began my career as a science teacher. Educationally, I earned my doctorate from USC and am a proud Trojan. My master’s degree is in School Administration from CSUN and undergraduate degree is in Chemistry from UC Davis. Science is my favorite subject in school and I will always be a science teacher at heart.

I am looking forward to a GREAT year together. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your commitment to making Jefferson a great place for kids.
