My name is Gretchen Vizzi and I'm so excited to be your child's teacher this year!  I have been teaching since 1997 and I'm so happy to be joining the Jefferson staff as a new addition to the 5th grade team.  I have taught Kindergarten,1st grade, 2nd grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade, but 5th grade has always been my favorite. I received my Bachelor's in Education at the State University of New York at Fredonia, my Reading Specialist Masters Degree at CSULB, and recently I attended USD to get my certification in Orton-Gillingham. In addition to teaching for many years, my other favorite part of my job is being a mentor to new teachers.  I have been an Induction Mentor since 2010.  I'm looking forward to a fun, exciting, and educational year with your child!
