Welcome

My name is Courtney Baker and I will have the privilege of teaching and working with you and your children this year. I started teaching in 1997. My teaching experience includes kindergarten, first grade, second grade, primary language Spanish, Sheltered English Immersion, and a district English Learner specialist.

I grew up in San Diego and moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA where I received my BA in Environmental Studies and Geography. I went on to earn my teaching credential at CSUDH and then an MA from UoP.

I have always been passionate about learning and love connecting with students in the classroom. The "ah-ha" moments, the fun and joy of childhood, and the amazing strides kids make over the course of the year keep me coming back to the classroom with enthusiasm each year. I am looking forward to a wonderful year of learning and growing together!
